When you get ready to uninstall certain files from your computer it should not take you very long to do at all. For the most part, many programs that you download on your PC nowadays have the option to completely remove them from your PC; the uninstall feature is included in the package. Other programs however can be quite difficult to remove from your computer; especially those that you download directly from the internet. There are many files that you can download from the internet that appear to be safe, but they come with hidden malware files on them that make them hard to remove. Now, there are a few solutions that you can turn to for fixing this issue to remove the software from your PC once and for all. Let’s take a look at some of the options that you can choose from; continue to read on.

The very first thing that you would need to do is search for the programs on your computer that you would like to have removed. The program could be anything from a toolbar, a game, or antivirus program that you no longer want. You would be able to easily find the program if it is one that you use on a regular basis.

Some of these files might not even cause problems for your computer other than taking up a bit too much space. To get rid of them would usually just give your computer some extra space and would speed up the performance. So basically it is optional for you to remove the file whether it is very useful to you. Now there are some files that are harmful to your computer and that will slow your computer down, cause it to freeze, blue screens, or infect your PC with a virus. These files are the ones that you will most certainly have removed from your PC so that they do not cause more harm and damage to your computer.

Okay now once you have found the files that you want to have uninstalled from your computer you need to go to the Start menu on the bottom left of your desktop screen.  Next go to either the Control Panel or the Programs menu (wherever the file is located). Follow the instructions for removing the file from your PC. If the file is not located on the menu folder you can always go to the Programs folder next to find the file and remove it.

Manual Uninstalling a File

So now that you have found the one or more files that you would like to have removed from your computer, the first option that you can take to have it removed off of your computer is by manually removing it. To manually remove it go to the Control Panel on the Start menu. Go to Add/Remove Programs and wait for the list to populate of all of the files you have installed on your computer. You have already done this; if so just click the Remove button to uninstall the file from your PC. Restart your computer so that the removal changes will be effective.

One thing that you should know is that this manual method usually only works best for removing small files that have just one or two folders that go with it. Large software files are the ones that you have to double check behind to make sure that all related files have been removed from your computer. So, if you are using the manual method to uninstall larger files you will need to go back and check your C drive once you have restarted your PC to make sure there are no left behind files of files that were related to the software that you removed from your computer. When/If you find any leftover files left click on them and delete them. Once you have deleted all of the files that belonged to that software you removed, go to your recycling bin and empty it and then restart your computer again for the changes to be effective. Be careful when removing such files from your PC manually because you don’t want to accidentally remove important files from your C drive that your computer needs to function properly.
